ā€œSave the Beesā€ Premieres in Los Angeles with Family-Friendly Celebration of Confidence, Culture, and Community

Los Angeles, CA — Save the Bees: The Tale of Princess Ellie and the Feathered PrinceĀ is a new children’s multimedia project that celebrates individuality, kindness, and the importance of caring for the earth.

The story follows a young bee who is bullied for having feathers instead of regular wings. Together with Princess Ellie, they embark on an ā€œAdventure Questā€ filled with riddles, hidden butterflies, and original songs. Along the way, they discover how to plant wildflowers and use the shadow of the Feathered Prince’s wings to help seeds grow. By the end, the bees learn to fly again, and the Feathered Prince realizes his difference is his strength.

The project is produced by Set on a Hill and addresses themes of how to deal with bullying, self-care, and environmental education. It also teaches children the basics of planting wildflowers to help real-life bee populations thrive.

“Save the Bees” is now available in three formats:

  • A children’s book
  • A full-length movie
  • A 10-episode animated cartoon series

Unity Through Music
The premiere will feature a community dance-along to ā€œSpread Your Wings and Fly,ā€ a multilingual song written in English, Spanish, and Korean. Each guest will receive a colorful ribbon to wave during the performance — a symbol of unity, joy, and the power of believing in yourself, just like the Feathered Prince does when he realizes that just because he was different and had feathered wings that didn’t mean, he couldn’t fly.

The Premiere will be at Glow + Flow Beauty which is not just a beauty supply store, but now an event space to empower the community with a party area for empowerment and pamper events.

Save the Bees is a book, film, and 10 Episode television show. The premiere will spotlight the ā€œFix Your Crownā€ segment, which teaches children about hair care and self-confidence. The segment highlights how early lessons in hair styling — like learning to braid or add accessories — can build lifelong self-esteem and identity.

Ā Braid Kit:

During the premiere, Set on a Hill will be giving away Braid Kits to the first 25 families and will teach everyone how to do a simple braid and twist. The creator Ellie does this by using a unique color coding technique to enhance learning. The Braid Kits are a part of her larger Art of Adulting Subscription Box launch where she will help kids learn practical skills alongside of their parents who also have a challenge in every box. The braid kits are a great way to promote ā€œEach one, teach oneā€ as it takes a village to raise a child. Created from her upcoming video tutorial series entitled ā€œI wish my parents taught me how toā€¦ā€.

We create community films and give youth and newer talent the opportunity to learn more about the industry and be a part of a film, tv show, or commercial.

Click the toggle below to view our community charity history. Some of our past projects were submitted to film festivals and won awards.

History of Giving and Community Films

    History of Giving

    Community Work
Set on a Hill Community Programs in conjunction with our non-profit Estadio Magazine has impacted the community in numerous ways. Within the last 12 years we have already accomplished so much. We are doing charity work through our Princess Ellie programs as well.

    2012 Charity Projects

šŸŽ¬ In 2012 We started doing Community Films and incorporated 5 Youth in our Television Shows that Aired on Mundo FOX.

šŸ“š In 2012 we helped a High school student gain a summer internship position as a Bookkeeping Analyst where she learned how to reconcile account, use QuickBooks, and scale balance sheets. She earned $10 per hour as a high school student and learned a transferable skill that she can use in any city she decides to go to college in. That student, who was a triple minority—African American, female, in a single parent home– now has her first year of college paid for, due to our training in fundraising and saving for college.

    2013 Charity Projects

šŸ—‚ļø In the summer of 2013 we hosted an Education and Career Fair where we brought in two career panels, 3 speakers, and trained students on job, college, and career options.
The event was in partnership with two non-profits, Earth’s Angels Conference of Internal Hope Fellowship Church and Solutions for Teen Life. The event was hosted by Almeda Mall and the program benefited both non-profit organizations. Set on a Hill was glad to be able to give away three scholarships during the event.
šŸŽ“ In the fall 2013 one of our students in our summer career and college training program, after applying the techniques we taught in our course, earned $27,000 in scholarships and grants for the 2013-2014 school year.

    2014 Charity Projects

šŸ‡§šŸ‡· In 2014 we became partners with the Consulate General of Brazil in Houston. We also traveled to Manaus Brazil and Recife Brazil in order to connect with local avenues and to determine their needs. While in Brazil we filmed fan correspondence for MundoFOX.
šŸ“œ In the fall 2014 we gave away $1150 scholarship worth of credit to Thomas and Thomas Law Firm to two students for
a Pre-Educational Scholarship. This scholarship assisted students before they start attending school, to prepare them to qualify for scholarships.

    2015-2017 Charity Projects

In 2015 we partnered with Rice University HACER program fundraise for a scholarship component to their club. Never in the history of HACER have they had their own scholarship fund, until now.
In 2016 we donated our live performances to multiple schools and children’s programs. We donated toys and books to international and local California elementary schools.

In 2017 we helped a dancer to prepare her for the Los Angeles market by creating a talent resume, producing her head-shots and producing two reels for her portfolio.
